What is a reactor?

1. What is a reactor?

The broad understanding of a reactor is a container for physical or chemical reactions. Through the structural design and parameter configuration of the container, the heating, evaporation, cooling and low-speed mixing functions required by the process are realized. Reactors are widely used in scientific research experiments in the fields of new materials, energy, environmental engineering, etc., and are commonly used small reactors for scientific research in colleges and universities and scientific research units.

Common reactors in laboratories include hydrothermal reactors and autoclaves.

2. How to use a reactor

1. Open the upper cover of the reactor and ensure that the operating area is well ventilated. 2. Accurately add the required reactants and solvents to the reactor, taking care not to exceed the capacity limit of the reactor. 3. Stir the added substances evenly to ensure that they are fully mixed. 4. According to the required reaction temperature and pressure, adjust the corresponding temperature and pressure control parameters on the upper cover of the reactor.

3. Precautions after using the reactor

A. Hydrothermal reactor: After removing the reactor from the heater, let it stand for 3-5 hours until it cools naturally before opening. If the experimental reagent is an organic solvent with a low boiling point, be more cautious.

B. Autoclave: After the experiment is completed, the temperature can be lowered by passing water or refrigerant.

C. Autoclave cleaning: After the experiment is completed, the inside and outside of the autoclave should be cleaned to remove any water or material residues, and stored in a clean and dry place for next use.
