Hydrothermal Synthesis Reactor

A hydrothermal synthesis reactor is a high-temperature, high-pressure, corrosion-resistant, and high-purity reaction vessel. Its purpose is to rapidly and non-destructively dissolve samples that are difficult to dissolve under conventional conditions, as well as samples containing volatile elements, after heating and pressurizing. During use, a hydrothermal synthesis reactor generates high pressure as the temperature rises. If the pressure exceeds the reactor's pressure limit, it can deform, explode, or lock up, posing a serious safety hazard. Common hydrothermal synthesis reactors on the market lack overpressure protection. To address this issue, our company has developed a new hydrothermal synthesis reactor with safety features that are simple, fast, safe, and reliable to operate. We strive to address these safety concerns.

Advantages of the New Hydrothermal Synthesis Reactor

1. The reactor features a patented quick-open design. Advantages: Simple and convenient operation, easy assembly and disassembly with just two fingers, without the need for tools. This eliminates the need for conventional hydrothermal reactors that require tools such as bench vises, pipe wrenches, and force rods.
2. Patented overpressure protection ensures experimental safety. Advantages: The reactor is equipped with a bursting disc for overpressure protection and automatic pressure relief, ensuring experimental safety.
3. The reactor body is made of forged 304 stainless steel, offering advantages: a denser material, improved pressure resistance, and enhanced corrosion resistance.
4. The lining is made of Japanese Daikin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), offering advantages: high strength, high thermal resistance, and high chemical resistance.
Operating Instructions for the New Hydrothermal Synthesis Reactor
1. Before use, clean the PTFE liner with pure water.
2. Pour the reaction materials into the PTFE or PPL liner, ensuring that the reactor fills ≤ 80% of its capacity.
3. Ensure the gasket under the reactor body is correctly positioned (with the raised side facing downward), then place the PTFE or PPL liner containing the materials into the stainless steel reactor body.
4. Then, place the reactor lid into the reactor body, ensuring a 2 mm gap between the upper and lower lids. If the gap is insufficient, adjust it by rotating the ring on the lid. 5. Then wrap stainless steel clamps around the upper and lower flanges of the reactor body and lid, and hand-tighten the bolts on the clamps.
6. Place the hydrothermal synthesis reactor in an oven and heat it to the desired reaction temperature strictly according to the specified heating rate (should be lower than the specified safe operating temperature).

Precautions

1. During operation, strictly do not exceed the pressure and temperature values marked on the hydrothermal synthesis reactor body.
2. The amount of solvent added to the reaction depends on the experiment, generally 60% to 80% of the reactor capacity. The maximum filling volume in the reactor should not exceed 80% of the reactor capacity.
3. This product must be heated in an oven. Use in other heating environments is strictly prohibited.
4. Check the oven. Older ovens may experience temperature surges, which are more noticeable at high temperatures. It is recommended to use an oven with high temperature control accuracy, with an actual internal temperature control of ±2°C. 5. It is strictly forbidden to open the lid of the kettle under high pressure and high temperature. Make sure that the temperature inside the kettle is lower than the boiling point of the solvent in the reactants before opening the lid for subsequent operations. (Do not twist the clamp nut during the cooling process).
